Newsflow: The No.1 News Ticker App Reviews

Quite good

Please make text much more crisp, especially in dark themes. Or add a setting for this. Also, please add font family selector to choose from all fonts installed in system, and from all font weights of the chosen font. Bug: the app sometimes fails to load article web page, while the same site is loaded successfully in browser.

Just what the doctor ordered…and it’s free!

It’s a no brainer…this app is fantastic!

GREAT VIEWER!

What an awesome way to keep up on the news all day without allowing it to menoplize your time! Just enough news to keep you informed - but not so much that you are always reading! Love this app!

No Bulk Feed Delete

The app is well designed, and works well for the most part. However, I imported a feed and I am unable to bulk delete my feeds. Not cool when you have nearly 200 feeds and you have to go through and manualy delete them. If they fix this problem, this would be a 5 star app.

It’s great, but...

It would be nice if the app had a float screen option allowing you to move it around anywhere on the screen instead of being bound to either left or right. Other than that, I can’t find anything wrong with it. I have really enjoying using it.

Can I have that giant strip of my desktop/background back, please?

So far. so good. I like the reading options, and options to read elsewhere or share as needed. These seem well thought out and implemented. First gripe, I’d like to be able to set the background opacity/blur on the main pane for the app, so I don’t have it owning so much real estate over my background images. I had to permanently alter my GeekTool setup becasue I couldn’t modify the pane enough (placement or opacity/blur) to keep it from covering the running logs that already live on my desktop. Secondly, not having a menu bar item when the app icon is hidden from the Dock. Which is probably why the mane pane can’t be hidden, docked off/minimized to the edge of the screen, etc… Functionally, it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to. But a few more interface options would be nice, so I don’t have to adjust to the ‘one way’ the app does things. Eidted to remove a temorary issue not caused by the app.

Need way to close article previews

So far, the app is pretty good. I like the customization of it, placing feeds into subfolders and being able to isolate feeds into tabs. However, one issue is that when you click on an article in your feed, it pops open a summary window. The only way to close this window that I found was to click on the article in the feed again. Not an issue if you do so quickly. But if your feed refreshes, the article can get pushed way down off your screen and you’ll have to go looking for it. Perhaps mapping a keyboard key, such as Esc, or providing buttons in the summary window to allow it to be closed in this way.

Great App

I use it to be aware on what’s up in biotechs and i gave exactly what i want. And it’s a beautifull App. What else ? Nothing. 5 stars

Very useful

Too bad we can not see the app in the menu bar… Add next ?

Very good

I love it!

For free a nice app !

Excepting the faq there no side hide function : this app is doing exactly and well what it’s deisgned for. Thx !

Almost perfect

Great app, stable, doesn’t redownload old updates, small UI footprint. What would make it perfect for me would be if I could double-click on an entry to open it in my browser, with single-click still showing the in-app popup, but still a 5-star app.

Nearly perfect

Really great Newsreader-App with to hard missing points: - a setting to start on a selected screen (for multi monitor environments) - a auto hide function which hides the app until the mouse moves to the border of the screen Nice to have: - a setting for the fontsize in the news list - a preview of the 1-3 first lines of the content in the list

tut, was es soll und funktioniert!

Nice RSS reade but location can’t be changed :(

The reader itself if great and easy to use. However the news list automatically appears on the left side of the main screen and the location can not be changed. I am using two monitors with the primary monitor on the right… so the app is basically in the middle. It would be great if there was an option to choose on which side of the screen (left or right) and maybe even on which screen the list is displayed.

all you need

Real great application to be updated by news. The setup is easy and able to handle by everybody. Congratulations - go ahead - you are on the right way.

A Visually Appealing RSS Reader

I was looking for something to replace my old RSS client that would fit more into Yosemite. Happened to see this client advertised for free for a day and thought I would take a peek. It has exactly what I was looking for. It fits in perfectly how I have my main desktop set up. The transparent “Glassy” look works well and looks right at home in the new OS. I enjoy the fact that I can just have a standalone reader since I have no need for sync, and it functions very well. Notifications work great. The main functionality that I wanted was the ability to have clutter free article viewing along with the ability to view the original page in the client if I wanted and Newsflow did not disappoint me. Looking forward to using this as my main RSS reader.
