Newsflow: The No.1 News Ticker App Reviews

79 add

Now 1000% More Ads!

So I went back to Reedr for awhile because Newsflow wasn’t quite up to snuff yet. I saw this update and installed it, deciding to see if Newsflow worked out some of the issues I was having before. The first thing I’m greeted with is a new splash screen asking for my e-mail address for a newsletter and advertising their other apps. With “show at launch” checked by default. And a modal dialog IN that splash window advertising yet ANOTHER of their “FREE!” products. Can they possibly be more obnoxious than this?

Helps manage my RSS feeds—missing a crucial sharing option

Newsflow is great for helping keep my RSS feeds organized and manageable. I appreciate the sharing capabilities (and use them almost daily), but I’d really like the ability to share an article to a Facebook page that I manage from the sharing feature within Newsflow. Because of the current inability to share to a Facebook page, I’m rating it 4-stars. Overall, however, this is one of the easiest RSS readers to setup and use. Having 3 choices for viewing the article is a wonderful feature that allows being able to read and share every article without leaving Newsflow. Most importantly for me though, I like that Newsflow allows me to easily subscribe/unsubscribe, manage, and organize RSS feeds.

added their RSS feed

As an engineer myself I hate to leave scathing reviews but the behavior of this app is appalling. I downloaded to give it a shot only to realize that the app subscribed me to their product RSS feed without my approval. I was presented with a news update about their Memory Monitor product. Presumably it’s just as spammy… Resolution: 1. Deleted App 2. Unsubscribe from spammy feed 3. Change feed service password 4. Submit review

Amazing RSS Reader

This is the best RSS app I’ve ever used: I love how miimal it is, and how you can turn on or off the various features (tabs, preview window, etc.). And the three Yosimite styles you can choose blend right in to the system’s look. Very nice.

Very Nice!

Big fan of the app. Works nearly identical to the paid (and expensive) RSS reader Leaf also in the App Store.

Just What I Needed

Well this is what I was looking for in a reeder app, web previews, yosemite design, customizable. This is my perferred method of reading on my mac. Please Add a menubar toggle!!!!!

Slams you with Ads

Slams you with ads. Very easy to hit an ad by accident. Just plain annoying. Deleted after 5min.

best app

it’s absolutely the best app for RSS reading

Great RSS reader

Newsflow is fast, clean and has lots of options, effective searching and great syncing. The addition of the expanding window allows you to see the full title if it of an article even if it is very long, making it even easier to tell which articles I want to read or skip. Clicking on the article brings up a short summary. That often gives me as much as I want to know about the subject, but there is also the option to read the whole article either in Newsflow or in my browser, or save for later in Pocket. It’s a great newsreader.

Great for newshounds

Newsflow is a fantastic RSS reader that can remain constantly visible, without being in the way. Something to note: Connecting it to a Feedly account that watches a lot of feeds does consume a lot of bandwidth whenever it syncs. One feature I’d really enjoy is the ability to manually set the timezones of feeds. There are a number of sites whose feeds end up showing up right at the top of my list, showing it was published a few ours in the future.

Exactly the right amount of everything

Newsflow lets me read my RSS feed the way I want to. I can turn off feeds I don’t care about reading as often (they still show up in the main ‘unread’ folder). Each feed I can open up in Feed view or Website view (super handy for comics like Dilbert that don’t include the pictures in the feed itself). The themes are great, and the developer is constantly improving the app in smart ways. Well worth getting!

need one more thing

everything is awsome but need to orgnize the feed a lil bit .. if we can add a folder to the live feed it will be nice

a GREAT app, but new (August 31) update causes instant crashes on open

Title says it all—I love this app, until today. The new update causes the app to immediately crash when opened, startng an unending loop of “Newsflow closed unexpectedly. Ok/Reopen”, with either option starting the launch/crash/message loop again. OS X 10.10.15 MacBookPro6,1

Staying with Shrook for Now

Pros: Easy to Add News Feeds Cons: Window re-sizing feature is very limited. As a current Shrook user, this app is just OK but not good enough for me to switch to Newsflow. This app needs more user flexibility. This app allows horizontal window re-sizing only. Why would developers limit users’ flexibility to make vertical window adjustments? This app needs to allow users to re-size the window BOTH horizontally AND vertically. What were they thinking? Please fix and I will switch to Newsflow.

Poor UI Implementation

Can not resize or move window. Does anything else need to be said?

Nice App…however

This is a pretty good App, I only wished they would make a notification widget instead taking up 1/5 of my screen, that way I can dismiss it whenever i’m not reading

Great App. Easy to use.

It’s awesome. I just gave it a try randomly and boy was I surprised. Easy to set up, sleek interface. You can connect to a few different accounts if you want to sync or keep it all local. Looks great. Love that you can resize the window. All in all, a great product. Thank you! :)

Newsflow

Pretty sick, especially if you supe it up with better touch tool. It can pretty much mirror your notifications center on the other side of the screen

Fantastic

This app is one of the best RSS reader I’ve ever used. Customizable, non-intrusive and yet still always present. Gets the work done! I love it!!

Customization is on point

My foavorite aspect of the application is how intuitive making customizations is. My experience with RSS readers in the past was that they were hard to set up for multiple small sources such as my high school newspaper, but a bit of tweaking around in the settings with this app got everything working smoothly.
