Newsflow: The No.1 News Ticker App Reviews

The app works well and I want to love it, it just needs two features: a windowed mode so it doesn’t take up the whole side of my screen, and a staggered list so that I can browse news by website/magazine as opposed to just aggregating them together.

Great App! I love the customization and the implmentation of the the dark theme. Also thanks for allowing the keyword search of the types of feeds you want to subcribe to. Super easy to use!

I really think this is a pretty good RSS reader overall. I like having the ability to have a tab for each source, I like the aesthetics, and I like the notifications. The only problem I have with it is that two of the three article views, “Clutter-Free Article” and “Article Summary” seem to have broken slightly in the most recent release. I use RSS to keep up with webcomics, among other things and, until recently, using the “Clutter-Free Article” setting worked well for all of them. Now, however, that same view just shows whatever text is on the page and doesn’t show the comic itself—I end up having to switch to the website view instead. It’s not consistent, however, and sometimes the same feed shows properly as a clutter-free article. Once that issue is fixed, I’d be happy to give this four stars instead of three. It does lose another star for the “please rate us and look at our other products” popups that happen every time you update the app—they show up even if you tell them not to show again. Fortunately it only happens once the first time you open it after updating, but it still costs them a star. Please put that kind of stuff in the “About” or “Help” menus where it belongs.

This app is fast and easy to use, not bad.

The app is simple, easy, intuitive, time-saving, and just got a lot of things right.. I love it <3. There’s just tiny fixes needed to be applied, such as the Apple built-in dictionary lookup feature bug for instance. Other than that, I’d love the app to shine more and more. Keep up the good work, guys!

I’ve tried all the top news readers for Feedly and this is the best fit for me. Although I’m still looking for a mac version of the iOS app Newsify this is the best option until it exists.

i’ve been away for awhile, and reading my news in ios 9. until os x has the news feed like iOS, this may be my go to news reader

I wanted to like it, but you can’t import newsfeeds from other applications and the interface is very awkward. You can see only a small piece of any article and have to click to open it in Safari if you want to read the rest of it. I’d rather stick with Vienna.

This is a very disappointing application to use. The user interface is completely inaccessible using the mac screenreader known as voiceover. The welcome panel is accessible, and after discovering this, i assumed the application would be quite user friendly. This however was a very big mistake on my part. One the application launches for the first time after you select your service, the fun begins. When I say fun, I’m being sarcastic. Not a single button is labeled with what it is supposed to do. All voiceover does, is speak button, or radio button. However, I have no idea what to do. This is very annoying. I seem to have 0 tolerance for applications are inaccessible. In short, the user interface should be completely redesigned with every button labeled. Yes, it may take time, I realize that, but I feel that a application should be done right before being released on to a world wide app store.

I used to use Genieo for all of my news stories, but ever since it got shut down (or it was revealed as a hacking company…?) I haven’t been able to find a good news app. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money, and I’m a student, so I don’t have the time (or interest, haha!) to be reading the news or the newspaper. This app is sleek and beautiful and lets me see what is happening in the world just a mouse click away. I’m on my computer A LOT for essays, Netflix, etc. and it’s nice to have a really beautiful news system that I can pull up and pull away at my ease. I totally recommend this :)!

Everything about this as far a reader goes, I like. Lots of customizable options in terms of viewing/fonts, etc. But to have all those options and then *insist* on staying open and taking up my screen is a disappointment. I have to manually hide it each time. Otherwise, I’m always going to see it and get distracted by some article while I’m trying to work. Please add an option that lets us tuck it away on the edge or auto-hides when not active.

The only thing thats missing is the ability to filter notifications. I set up around a dozen feeds and get notified of each new story regardless of content. I actually only care about maybe 2% of these stories. I want to set custom keywords related to my interests and only receive notifications for those matches. The other 98% can be ignored. Add notification filters and youll get 5 stars from me. :)

My dock is on the left. I couldn’t figure out how to move the main window from under the dock.

First news reader EVER and I must say it works great, like the lay out, easy to search for pertinent news as interest based, easily add & subtract subscriptions. As the description say’s it keeps subject matter short and to the point….

Before today I visited Newsflow daily. Today it crashes every time I try to open it. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice but it continues to crash. I hope that whatever is wrong will be fixed soon because i miss this app!

This app does almost everything I want. When I have the option to choose which BufferApp post I share to. I will finally be totally content and upgrade to 5 stars. Until then this app is almost perfect.
